A story that features three monks in a monastery in Ywar Ngan, Southern Shan State, one of whom is the youngest and named Shin Sanda, along with his dog “Kan Kaung.” This story focuses on the unique and strong bond between Shin Sanda and Kan Kaung, a stray dog who is ostracized from the village. The film portrays their problems and challenges and highlights the special connection they share. In a village shrouded in judgment, a young celibate’s childhood bore the name San Htoo. His family’s fate was sealed by the shadow of his father, a notorious hunter whose brutal hunting methods cast a dark cloud over their reputation. Thus, San Htoo couldn’t attend his school and spending his time by helping the parents. His mother, grappling with the weight of grief after his father met his own demise in a twist of fate, made the heartfelt decision to entrust him to the sanctuary of the monastery, where the profound teachings of Dhamma would shape his character and illuminate his path. Choosing the noble path of monkhood and guided by a profound connection to Dhamma, the young monk made the joyful decision to commit his life to the monastery, he embraced his new identity, becoming Shin Sanda—a testament to the transformative power of faith and the resilience of the human spirit
